Ergoaby Four Position 360 Baby Carrier

“One of my top tips for new parents is to invest in a quality baby carrier — it’s so worth it. This one is my favourite because it’s ergonomic and really comfortable for both baby and parents. It’s great for walks and on-the-go, and absolutely essential if you’ve got a new baby but will also be chasing after older kids as well!”

Anastasia, House & Home Buyer

Grab Green Cleaning Products

“I’m not a mom, but I am an aunt and I absolutely adore my niece and nephew, so I want only the best for them. That’s why I always keep their mom stocked with Grab Green detergent, bleach alternative, dish soap, and all purpose cleaner. They’re effective, and we can feel good about using them knowing that they’re chemical-free and safe.”

Dreamweaver Full Body Pillow

“This is SO key for pregnant mamas to be! Getting enough sleep is so important, but it can be elusive when you’re super pregnant. This pillow is an essential for sleeping comfortably during pregnancy.”

Phil, VP of Operations

AppleCheeks Cloth Diaper Starter Kit

“We opted to use cloth diapers for our new baby Nora, because we like that they’re environmentally friendly and cost-effective. The AppleCheeks Cloth Diaper Starter Kit had everything we needed to get started with cloth diapering. We’d recommend it to any other first-time parents or anyone thinking about making the switch to cloth diapers.”

Danielle, Baby & Kids Buyer

Skip Hop Owl Moonlight & Melodies Nightlight Soother

“I loved creating a calm soothing environment for my son at night.  Using a sound machine was often a savior in calming my son, and getting him settled for night.  The white noise actually reminds babies of being in their mom’s stomach, which is why they work so effectively!”

Stephanie, Director of Marketing

BabyBjorn We Carrier

“My BabyBjorn carrier was probably my favourite item as a new mom. It’s really intuitive and  easy to use, and I loved that I could use it all the way through the newborn to toddler years.”

Nicole, Director of Warehouse Operations

Phil & Ted’s Poppy Highchair

“I love, love, love this high chair. Not only is it comfy for my son to use and easy to clean (which is key as a parent), but it’s great value because it converts from a high chair into a big kid chair that he can use until he’s 5!”

Of course, even when you’re stocked on all of your essentials, having a new baby is going to be full of ups and downs, whether you’re a first-time parent or you’ve done this before.

So to round out this list, we want to leave you with one last new parent essential – some valuable advice from Instagram follower @merrick78: “Everything is fleeting – so embrace the good moments while they last and take comfort in knowing that the bad and ugly will pass.”

Parents, what were your essentials for life with a new baby? New parents/parents-to-be, what questions do you have for the Well.ca parent community? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

Really great suggestions…especially the Ergo carrier, one of my personal faves! My babe actually loves it more than she does being strolled around 🙂
